Motivation for Running
In 2025, I am running not only for races that are interesting to me, but also ones that I can win. In October of 2024, I came to the realization that minor political parties will never win in partisan races and furthermore face huge obstacles in municipal races as well. I actually came to that realization in 2018 when I reluctantly lent my name to the running mate ticket, but have stuck around Unity to ensure one more ballot line remains on your ballot; I just nominally reaffiliated to a major political party that wins – like it or not – in Colorado.
The AFPD is a large district with a small effective-electorate. With only 5 candidates at-large for not just the first past the post, but the top 3, this is a reasonable fruit to reach. While I intend to run for the Governorship of Colorado in 2026, wildfire is too important of an issue to ignore on a daily basis. Look at how badly the Governor of California fucked up on this issue.
There is no room for error on wildfire prevention.
We will make Arvada and Fairmount, and other unincorporated Jeffco a place where residents need not worry, because we are prepared.
